Indian parents always nag their kids when they ask for junk food But they are fine with their kids eating unhealthy Indian snacks be it high on fat or sugar or Cholesterol
Here are popular unhealthy Indian snacks which people eat regularly
This is a deep fried dish where the major nutrient your body is getting is fat. If you eat it roadside, then they will use same oil again and again for frying pakoras so it becomes, even more, unhealthier since oil loses its entire nutrient.
Samosa is one of the favorite snacks of all time. No party is complete without it. But just for your general knowledge, each Samosa has 20g of fat, the same as that of a large slab of butter.
3. Chola Bhature
Of all the snacks on this list, chole nature is highest in saturated fats and calories. If you will squeeze the bhature, you can use the oil left from it for the whole day.
Jalebi is the queen of unhealthy food. Not only it is deeply fried, it is also coated with sugar syrup making it super unhealthy.
5. Bhujia Sev
Bhujia sev is a popular item which is added to most of the snacks. I have seen people adding it to sprout chat also thereby making even sprouts unhealthy. Hats off to Bhujia Sev!!
I know some of you might be thinking that I started with giving Indian snacks a bad name but I didn’t speak about fast food. But trust me guys, I have saved the best for the last.
Fast food = Unhealthy + Poison
Most of the fast food especially Chinese dishes or packed food items such as Maggi, masala oats or frozen foods have MSG in it. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer and its adverse effect include: obesity, eye damage, headaches, fatigue and disorientation, depression, rapid heartbeat, tingling, and numbness
What I could understand from you guys is that you want my opinion about burger and pizzas also. So, here we go
Now a day burger has become a staple food for youth. The reason it is unhealthy is that not only burger bun is made up of Maida, the chicken patty in it is deep fried plus it contains cheese, mayo, and lots of sodium. And when you combine burger with French fries and coke and have it frequently then it becomes one of the unhealthiest foods on the planet.
Pizza is a big brother of the burger. Pizza is all maida, cheese, butter, salt and a minuscule amount of veggies. So when I compare this with cholabhatura then at least with bhatura you are having chola which is very healthy but with pizza just 2tbsp of veggies.
Just for fun, both Indian deep fried snacks and fast foods such as burgers, pizza, Chinese are unhealthy but at least Indian snacks are cheaper.
Also, guys, you are correct that eating in moderation is a key to good health
