8 Delectable Smoothie Recipes
English-speakers distinguish between milkshake and smoothie, the former being the most traditional shake, the typical one we saw in those classic Hollywood movie diners, with a lot of milk and, usually, ice cream.
The smoothies are intended to offer many more ingredients, and without ice cream thicker and creamier drinks, but often with crushed frozen items directly to achieve that denser texture. They are associated with a healthy diet because many recipes add greens, vegetables, and the so-called superfoods that seek to increase the nutritional benefits.
All these smoothies will be much more appetizing if you use fresh ingredients to make them. If this summer you fancy one of these drinks, you can try combining the fresh fruits and vegetables that you can find in supermarkets, with good size, just ripe and with a good level of freshness at a competitive price. This way, you make sure that the ingredients have passed thorough quality control.Â

It’s a smoothie that’s convenient for a healthy breakfast or snack, but the ingredients are also important. The basis for making a healthy smoothie is to always make it yourself, rather than buying it at a smoothie shop or gym stand. “If you make it yourself, you have complete control over the ingredients and sugar,” says cooking expert and certified dietitian Jessica Levinson.
As healthy, A smoothie depends on the ingredients and how it is prepared. You should follow these 5 rules so that your smoothies are really healthy:
- Use only natural products. It is best to use organic fruit and vegetables so that you can process them with their peel. Because this one contains the most nutrients!
- Use as fresh seasonal products as possible. In an emergency, frozen food can also help out.
- Avoid sugar (including “substitutes” such as honey). If necessary, dried fruits can sweeten the drink. You can order dried fruits with no added sugar here at food spring.
- The smoothie also gets its fat off: some vitamins are fat-soluble and can only be absorbed by the body in combination with fat. Therefore always use a source of fat or oil. For example avocado, flax seeds, nuts, or a spoonful of vegetable oil …
- Drink the smoothie as soon as possible after preparation so that no vitamins are lost.
Caution: Smoothies are healthy with the right ingredients, but not necessarily low in calories! That shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying it with a clear conscience. But remember, you shouldn’t have multiple drinks just because they’re good for your health!
And don’t forget: Even if there are so many nutrients in the smoothie: The delicious mixed drink does not replace a meal! So it is important to keep eating fresh raw vegetables and fruits!
