What is a stye?

A sty or stye hordeolum is a red tiny bump, you can say a pimple, that grows on the outer edge of the eyelid. human eyelids have many tiny oil glands, commonly around the eyelashes. dirt, dead skin, or oil buildup can clog or block small holes. when the gland is blocked the red bump bacteria may grow inside the eyelid and can cause eye stye to develop further.

Symptoms of eye stye

  • Watering of the eye
  • Swelling and puffiness of the eyelid
  • Burning sensation in the eyes
  • blurred vision
  • itching in eyelid
  • You may feel something is stuck in your eyes.

In some cases, the red bump can be filled up with pus if ruptured can lead to infection in the eyes. it might also bleed. Proper care should be taken to treat this eye condition as soon as possible. the best option is to consult your physician if you suffer above symptoms.

Causes of eye stye

 

Eye stye is caused due to oil glands infection in the eyelids. the bacterium Staphylococcus is said to be responsible for this condition.

Home remedies for stye on eyelid

  • Place this in 100% cotton light and a soft cloth.

Turmeric for eye stye

Aloe vera for eye stye

  • Boil everything together for few seconds only it should not be hot

  • leave it until it dries
  • once it is dried wash with left out milk cream.
  • Repeat once a day until your eye stye gets to heal.

Castor oil

Castor oil contains hydrating properties it is said to be effective in curing skin infections. it helps to reduce swelling and pain while treating skin infection which might be causing the stye.

How to use

  • Cotton ball
  • 1 tablespoon Castor oil
  • Dip the cotton ball in castor oil
  • Apply on the affected area
  • leave it for 10 minutes
  • wash with lukewarm water.
  • Repeat once a day until you get relief.
